Through his word I’ve come to know
Where my life is going to go
I keep searching and praying
Asking for patience and guidance
The more I seek I find
The more I get peace of mind
His word is the way
It leads me out of the darkness

Ten bucks a night and the book was free
A warm bowl of soup, and a hard crusty bread
I was a lost sheep searching for amnesty
And then a man stood up and read
about -
Gideon a farmer, fearful but true
Gideon a soldier who lead just a few
Gideon a young man who followed God’s word
But I heard some truth in those words
Another cold night out on the street
Coming from nowhere bound back to the same
My ears still echo with the Devil’s deceit
Out on a limb again
and I said -
(Gideon) won’t you, (walk with me)
(Gideon) I’m lost, I (can’t find my way)
(Gideon) I’m in darkness, (what should I do)
He said, read this good book it’s my gift to you.
I read the story ‘bout the Prodigal Son
And a father that (prayed)
He would come home again
About a young boy and a giant and
How he changed the world with a
(Sling and a stone)
And an Arc full of animals
And a family of faith in the
(Rain), starting over
And the brothers of Joseph,
Who sold him to slavery, but he forgave them
