“The Word of God is Alive”

This song came around 180 degrees from its inception. It was first titled “The What and The Why.”
I was complaining to God, dissatisfied with many things. I needed some questions answered.
My guitar playing friend Stephen kept telling me no one wanted to hear me rant. I remained stubborn for weeks.
Finally, I tried a writing exercise to just change all the negativity into positivity. Lyrics dropped and the dark veil lifted letting a new melody soar. I had been hearing a raunchy lead guitar solo in my head, it no longer seemed appropriate. Then a solo melody came and it sounded like the saxophone in Gerry Rafferty’s Baker Street. Carson Freeman a friend of Tom Barlow’s who is a longtime friend of mine made my chart sing on his alto sax. Carson’s tracks were recorded by Tom Barlow in Port Credit. Loralee McGuirl added her vocal interjections and harmonies to the Choir in her home studio in Hamilton and the new Chorus and verses were uplifted by the groove that was laid down by drummer Neil LaFortune in his teaching/recording studio in Orillia. I’m up near Owen Sound so we’re working the internet in Ontario on this project.
