“Julianna”

This is a very personal and emotional song for me. Julianna was and still is, a very important person in my life, in that she’s part of the person I am and still becoming. As it happened, Julianna was successful on her third suicide attempt, though at the time our family called it an accident.
I never understood why she was so conflicted, years later I received some answers, but they were never officially confirmed. After all the alcohol, pills, shock treatments, hospital wards and a loving family, no one could or would acknowledge or explain the reason for her torment. In those days it was more like “Why don’t you just smarten up?!!” but when has that attitude ever worked?
It took a long time for me to come to the point of forgiveness and healing. I shed many tears in the making of this one.
